ESL Grammar Tips

Since every language is a logically built system used for communicating, it has it's rules. These rules in the language are called grammar. Children acquire language in a natural way, but adults who want to learn English or any other language have to learn grammar rules. Some people think that learning and understanding grammar is the a hardest part of learning. Probably, you will hear this from a person who is learning English as a second language. Those who already know two or more other languages, will copy with English grammar much easier. Probably, the secret is that most of the languages have similar structure, inside logics and even similar grammar rules. So, if you know more than one language, every next language you will learn faster and easier.
Where to start? Which grammar rules should come first while learning English? How to remember spelling rules in English? Those questions are asked by English learners. The answer is: start from the beginning. First learn some basic vocabulary, then go to the spelling rules, slightly moving to pronouns, and then begin learning English tenses. Try to add some of grammar to every topic you learn. For example, if you have a lesson about hobbies, with vocabulary and sentences as "I like fishing", you can learn Present Simple tense at the same time.
Another way to get an idea where to start is to look through the ESL textbooks that are teaching English as Second (or Foreign) Language. They are usually structured to teach English grammar step-by-step accordingly to the best recommendations of specialists on how to implement English grammar into the learning process.
In this part of EnglishVille website you will find English grammar exercises of different levels, English grammar links and useful articles about learning grammar in foreign languages.
